How much do I need to invest to get British citizenship?

To get British citizenship through investment will require you to apply for an Investor (Tier 1) visa first.

This visa is for those high-net-worth individuals who are looking for considerable financial investment in the UK.

The basic eligibility required is for you to be above 18 years of age and the finances, assets and all investments must be directly in your control.

What you cannot do on this visa?

You will be granted an Investor visa for a period of 3 years and 4 months, once it has expired you can renew it for 2 more years.

During this period you will ot be able to invest in offshore companies, like management, etc, nore you can access public funds.

You need to have majorly 6 documents for an Investor visa

  • A valid passport with blank pages.
  • Certificate of marriage
  • Tuberculosis test certificate
  • Record of criminal certificate from any country you have stayed in for more than 12 months in the previous 10 years.

How to proceed with the application?

You will need to make an online application with a complete biometrics enrolment procedure and related documents.

The fee for an Investor(Tier 1) visa is £1,623, and an additional healthcare surcharge is required to be paid.

You must make the application as early as 3 months before the trip. It usually takes 8 weeks before the investor visa is granted.

The required documents must be in English or welsh or if not, then certified translations must be provided.
